          JULY EVENTS 2008


Ever felt like dancing in Trafalgar Square? Members of the public have the chance to participate in a large scale dance event organised with top choreographers in the dance industry. The Bollywood dancing event already took place and proved to be popular and the main event on Saturday 5th will be split up into Red, Yellow and Blue zones and each participant will be allocated a zone to follow the dance routine. Places must be booked first via their website.


A series of open air concerts in the surroundings of Royal Botanic Gardens Kew with performances from Gypsy Kings, Lulu, Jools Holland & his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, Commitments/Sounds of Blues Brothers plus the Swing Village set up with several food & drink stands. 



A line up of world class artists perform inc Courtney Pine,  Junkanoo Backilne Carnival Band, Preservation Hall Jazz band from New Orleans, Papa Noel & Adan Pedroso, Lesely Garrett & the BBC Concert Orchestra, Bhangra Latina, The Polkaholics, Spaghetti Swing, The Zoe Rahman Trio, The Bikini Beach Band, The Proclaimers and a Firework finale featuring Korean master drummers Dulsori.  The five day festival takes place along Henley on Thames, the same location where Henley Royal Regatta Boat races are held every year.   http://www.henley-festival.co.uk/

Weatherwise the last few years at Cartier Polo have not been great so let's hope this year the event is blessed with sunshine as it enhances the whole experience of Polo spectating as well as picnicking on the lawns of Guards Polo Club and not forgetting all the after parties, main one being 'Rock the Polo' organised by Chinawhite and SMYLE party.  This year The Prince of Wales V Hurlingham compete for The Golden Trophy and England V Australia compete for the The Coronation Cup..I'm sure the Aussies will be there in abundance to support their team!

ANDY WARHOL: Portraits and Landscapes

For those who admire the work of American Artist Andy Warhol, an exclusive exhibition at The Timothy Taylor Gallery will be on display in London commemorating the 21st anniversary of Warhol's death in '87. The rare collection of black and white photographs depict all kinds of ordinary objects never been seen before.
Warhol was one of the most avant-garde 20th century modern artists particularly noted for his signature pop art prints of celebrities, notably the portraits of Marylin Monroe which have been constantly reproduced in various mediums across the world.
