After Somerset House being the home of London Fashion Week for many years, the event shifted to Brewer Street car park Soho in September 2015. The new location was underwhelming and unsafe for crowds of people loitering on the street with traffic also trying to pass through the area. Soho is the hub of the media & film industry and buzzing with activity but London Fashion Week seemed out of place there. I hope LFW returns to Somerset House as the elegant buildings and surrounding space make an ideal backdrop for this event.
On the first day of LFW ‘Fashion Scout' in Freemason's Hall, Ashley Isham showcased a range of swimwear including tropical trunks for men and high-cut swim suits for women. Some of the outfits were worn with flower garlands creating a happy holiday atmosphere.
Colourful floral prints and appliqué lace design work was abundant throughout the collections. Most of the female models had crimped hair with thickly drawn eyebrows. Holographic pinwheel windmills were attached to some of the outfits as fun decorations. It was a treat to see Ashley Isham's extensive range of men & women's wearable outfits. Guests included Pete Wicks and Dan Edgar from ITV reality show The Only Way is Essex.

After Ashley's show there was a scramble outside while people queued for Pam Hogg's evening fashion show. Hogg's fashion shows are notoriously difficult to get into because she's also a rock music artiste with a large following.
Pearly King & Queen inspired outfits were the main focus at Hogg's catwalk show. Her creations also included body suits with multi-coloured geometric patterns, fitted jackets & coats with large lapels and flared trousers. Spikes and studs were used in most of the outfits in keeping with Hogg's signature rock star style. Pam Hogg's collection was well received and the models looked like they thoroughly enjoyed showcasing her funky designer wear. Rock 'n' roll baby!
