Olympia International Art & Antiques Fair Preview 5 June 2014
On 5 June 2014 Pukka PR previewed Olympia International Art & Antiques Fair - an impressive showcase of art, antiquities, sculptures, jewellery, objet d'art, ceramics, silverware, furniture, lighting, unusual collectables and more. Now in its 42nd year, OIAAF is one of most recognised annual fairs within the art & antique events calendar attracting thousands of UK and overseas visitors during a ten-day run.
Apart from approx 160 dealers having exhibited between 5 - 15 June, daily lectures covering Art & Design subjects were chaired by experts, Gallery/Museum Curators, Editors, Professors and Interior Decorators.
A broad range of art & antiques to suit different tastes and budgets could be purchased. Paintings, vases, glassware, bronzes, porcelain, fine silver, clocks, ethnic carvings, wooden furniture, portrait miniatures, scent bottles and Objects of Vertu were some of the items for sale. Being Art Deco fans we admired Deco displays featuring ornaments/figures acquired from Europe and America. Works by world famous masters Dali, Miro, Picasso, Matisse, Chagall, Hockney and Moore were included in modern art dealers collections.
Clic Sargent was the OIAAF charity partner for the second year helping to fundraise for children with cancer. The charity hosted a reception at the Fair with gourmet canapés and refreshments provided by Mosimanns. One of the party guests seemed to have indulged himself so much he fell off a stool landing in a heap on the floor - perhaps he was overwhelmed by the Fair and great hospitality!
Olympia exhibition halls were decorated with large vibrant summer floral arrangements making it a pleasurable experience and relaxing environment for exhibitors and visitors. This is a must-see event for collectors, interior decorators, home owners and art/antiques enthusiasts.
