London Coffee Festival - Old Truman Brewery Brick Lane
The enticing aroma of gourmet coffees from all over the world permeated through the Old Truman Brewery Brick Lane East London for 4 days while the London Coffee Festival promoted and celebrated coffee culture between 25th-28th April 2013.
Pukka PR was invited to see and sample coffee provided by popular international brands, discover new brands/outlets and learn about the process of coffee making. One of the vital purposes of the festival was to raise funds for a charitable cause. Apparently 50% of all ticket revenue went towards "Project Waterfall, the charitable component of UK Coffee Week improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in African coffee-growing countries."
LCF was made up of ‘festival zones' identified by well known London locations for visitors to explore at their lesiure.
The Soho Zone featured pop-up coffee shop ‘True Artisan Café' and Craft coffee live roasting demonstrations presented by Union pop-up roastery. La Cimbali exhibited innovative and stylish coffee machines from the vintage to modern era in Hyde Park Zone. People also enjoyed live music entertainment at the band stand in the Hyde Park Zone.
At The Lab Zone visitors watched live interactive demos, attended workshops and they were shown how to make the best coffee at home at The Make Decent Coffee Lounge.
We attended the ‘Lindt Chocolate Pairing Session' at the Lab Zone presented by Lindt Master Chocolatier Stefan from Switzerland. We were given different Lindt chocolates to combine with various types of DeLonghi coffee including Lindt's new dark chocolate with sea salt. It was interesting to discover that after the 1st and 2nd bite of chocolate and sips of coffee the flavours on the palate changed each time.
Stall sellers provided a range of cuisines and cakes at the Street Food Market in the Shoreditch Zone.
Coffee baristas were invited to put their skills and knowledge to the test by competing in the UK Barista Championships during the London Coffee Festival.
It was an enriching experience sampling a diverse range of coffees but we indulged in moderation and were careful not to overdo the caffeine intake...!
Thanks to Allegra Events for providing the London Coffee Festival passes.

The Other Art Fair - Ambika P3
The primary purpose of The Other Art Fair was to showcase unrepresented artists providing them with a valuable opportunity of being discovered by gallery owners, dealers/collectors and critics. Approximately 100 emerging artists were selected to participate at this fourth edition art event mainly consisting of contemporary art displays - paintings, prints, photography, sculptures and installations.
During the exhibition there was live music entertainment, live tattooing sessions and The Sipsmith Bar & Food stalls provided refreshments for visitors. A unique exhibit titiled‘100 Mothers' featured pictures by 100 artists who were each asked to produce a picture portraying their mother. Apparently the entire collection of 100 pictures was on sale for £100,000 and full proceeds of the sale would go to a charity chosen by the buyer.
